Kalkan is a small fishing village with steep winding cobbled streets and alleyways. The ancient old town retains its original character, surrounded by the awesome Taurus mountains. At its centre lies the harbour with a mix of local fishing craft and visiting yachts.
The village is full of restaurants, boutiques and bars. Here you will find venues and menus to suit all pockets and tastes. These are situated along the winding cobbled streets that lead down to the harbour and on the harbour front. Many have roof terraces offering excellent views over the sea. A wonderful evening can be enjoyed in a relaxing ambience soaking up the atmosphere of the village at night. There is an air of elegant sophistication interspersed with oodles of Turkish charm and tradition. There is a traditional weekly Thursday market which is a feast for the senses. It is a tranquil holiday where you may dip into the buzz of the village and surrounding areas as and when you please.
